Kid Icarus: Uprising
Animal Crossing New Leaf
And those are the only interesting 3DS titles I've heard of so far.
I've heard Kid Icarus is the best game that is hellbent on destroying your hands and wrists ever made.
And while Animal Crossing is undoubtably a good game, that kind of slow-paced life-distraction that never really ends just kind of gets under my nerves ever since I played the first one on the Gamecube.
Phoenix Wright and Etrian Odyssey series are pretty amazing.
I've played pretty much all the Phoenix Wright games. I'm hungrily awaiting for Dual Destinies to come out :3
And my only experience with Etrian Odyssey is playing the demo for IV, which just seems to be a game that mechanically appeals to the kind of gamer that masochistically makes things way way way harder for themselves with no-frills no-handholding bare-bones turn-based combat and exploration, while it's only aesthetic charm is to appeal to lolicons.
That's a big :/ right there.
Shin Megami Tensei IV
There's actually the deal out on the Eshop right now, buy it and get 30 bucks store credit free if you have Fire Emblem Awakening as well, effectively making it a 20$ purchase.
Still, watching the trailer, I'd be hardpressed to to tell you anything that has failed to wow me more severely. Dropping the money on it rails against my money-saving instincts under those conditions, I'd need some powerful recommendations and examples of how fun it is before the hypeforce is able to overcome the walletfriction.
Does anyone have any suggestions for DS or 3DS games I could consider buying? The Nintendo Eshop is very lacking, being mostly filled with stuff that could pass as flash games and a great deal of NES ports that I have next to no consideration for.
While the Eshop seems like the perfect venue for being filled with classic SNES titles, it seems that much common sense hasn't yet permeated to whomever does the decision making on what gets put there.
So I guess I'm going to Amazon to look for games to take my mind off my boring nights. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Fire Emblem Awakening
Strange Journeys getting a reprint iirc
FFTA2 was pretty fun too.
But yeah, Fire Emblem Awakening was like my first purchase for my 3DS, I like it.
I've heard of Strange Journeys exactly once before, in a recommendation video by
these guys. In all honesty from what I've heard this is probably the best candidate.
And I'm extremely leery of FFTA2, since FFTA1 was a game that stole maybe 300 hours of my life, and I put the game down completely disgusted and angry about everything about it. I feel it drew me in on hype from the series I loved, with tons of promises and charm that I initially thought I'd enjoy, but over the course of my playing it gradually destroyed my expectations and wasted my time and ultimately I took no enjoyment away from it. I'm frankly not sure FFTA2 can sooth my broken heart in this regard.
