In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Maybe there's a portal to the Victorian-Era downstairs, and someone's Ether tank is leaking through the gap in time and space, and into my room?

Nope. I wonder what it could be then?

Maybe I'm just happy to finally be getting out of an unpleasant housing situation, contract work has been picking up, I'm moving closer to an awesome friend whom I've missed hanging out with since she moved away, and life in general is shaping up? Could be!

Meh, lucky you.

I drafted Blue-White flyers and it was sort of iffy, for a 1-3 showing yet again. Some guy drafted Archangel of Thune, Bubbling Cauldron, Trading Post, Angelic Accord, Sanguine Bond, and Path of Bravery. Lifegain, ho!

I had a pretty fun session of DnD today. There was a bit less entertaining stuff than last time. Indie kept trying to feed various things to the crows, including sand, glass, giant scorpion eggs, potentially tetanus filled rusty wire, and some other things.

Then I got a magic box that automatically fills with nutritious sweets every day.

That was constructed. I don't have the store credit for drafting this month. >_____>

I lost 2 matches, don't care because I won the sliver mirror and neither of us could stop laughing. I don't care what people say about new slivers, it's still fun.

Yep, same. I have negative dollars in the bank right now due to obnoxious, unexpected bills due to roommate's spontaneous departure, so I'm only playing on store credit (and I don't have $12 of that). Plasma donation to pay the remaining bills and buy food. I'm pleased this strategy is actually working.

It's got the omitted chapter in it. I know that. It's also got this cool cover of a screaming guy's mouth and an image of fire above it.
