Yeah, but getting a month to mostly sit about and play Skyrim in one's spare time rather than killing oneself with lesson plans is more than enough.

People do get leave while they're pregnant, you know.
Yeessss... but enough to make up for the overall time lost? Spawn is effort intensive :(

That and it's often not, y'know, paid leave. Varies by area, yeah. Considering th'kid(s) 'emselves are a pretty hefty financial burden, being able to take leave while pregnant doesn't necessarily entail being, well. Practically able.

But yeah, think the best of things. Gonna' presume the person in question knows how to swing things (probable, since it's apparently not th'first go) in her favor. Which, like said, impressive. Haven't heard of many able to do that.

According to my sister, having a baby is, next to wonderful and amazing, boring as fuck: they tend to sleep a lot.

Got a copy of Mirror's Edge for free from a pal :D

... Also, I'm having a Pacific Rim outing this Sunday with my best buds as a sort of last hurrah.  My friend is having his birthday and I'm about to move from the town I grew up in FOREVER.  It also just so happens that my friend is an overly enthusiastic cephalopod freak and the other pals are quite up for Giant Robots smashing Giant Alien Squidmonsters, so I think we'll really enjoy ourselves.

I just slept for about 12 hours and I feel great.
It took me over 24 hours of wakefulness, but I finally got some decent sleep. :P

Also had a pretty cool dream.

I just finished Hotline Miami.

Wow is all I can say.

Been a real long time since I completed a game.

It is mostly done. I still need to update some passwords to secure versions, some websites don't have recognizable password fields, and I still need to update some email addresses, but the vast bulk of the work is done. My online identity is getting much more secure. I think I can take the rest of my time off to work on actually productive stuff, now.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Figured out a much more accurate self-diagnosis (yeah I know, but it illuminated a lot of the issues I've been handling and led me to see them as related, as opposed to a potent combination of like 5 different Big Fucking Problems).  Probably going to go to a psychologist about it when I move, and I think it could be extremely helpful this time through.

I'm not telling you what because I'm too paranoid to tell you, but I do feel nontrivially better.

This is how you do "Throw Anything" in a game. D&D's imagination is so limited.
