Am I the only one who was really freaked out by Link's Awakening as a kid? That whole game had a really creepy/dream vibe, but certain parts made me put the game boy down and do something else.
The store owner's reaction to my five-finger discount made me put the game down for a week <_<;

Waiting. Are most of these remakes NOT 3DS exclusive? :O

Well, the 3d remakes are definitely exclusive, but I'd hazard that the normal virtual console stuff is available for the Wii as well.

I got really confused for a second because I thought you meant you stole the game.

Man, that is a bummer. you could play it along with all the gameboy games on your DS with an acekard for 10 bucks plus shipping

Why would I need that. DS lites have a gameboy cartridge port, remember? :P
(Altough I only have the DSi with me and I lack gameboy games.)

Oh, I thought you couldn't play original game boy / game boy color games in those. Just GBA.

Yeah, you can't. I tried. DS can play GBA and DS games, but not GB or GBC.

Oh. I'm a bit lost when it comes to these things. I've never owned or played anything older than Pokemon mystery dungeon blue or red. Whichever one was the DS version.

The GBA SP was the last handheld able to play GB/GBC games.

Oh my god. I just converted my dice roller to use BigIntegers for the calculations so that I could actually get distributions for non-tiny numbers. I did everything right the first time. That included writing my own factorial and binomial distribution methods for BigIntegers, and doing some really funky nesting. It does take a noticeable amount of time to run now, but whatever. Optimization? Bah.

EDIT: Or, I guess, 4d6k2 is a bizarre corner case. Another test just told me I have -744 ways of getting 24 on 5d8k3.

And running the original source tells me it's an error in my conversion, and I have a good idea where it'd have to be. Thank god.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

It seems I'm late to the party but... HOW COULD NOBODY TELL ME BRAVEST WARRIORS EXISTED?!?! How could I have not found out about it til today, given how popular Adventure Time is?

I just stumbled on another one of those loosely-binding laws of life and the cosmos. It's about the importance of contrast.

Ninja EDIT: Also Lagslayer, Bravest Warriors is highly awesome. I may almost like it better than Adventure Time. Almost.
