I think I made a new friend.
See, my two best friends are a year ahead of me, and have rudely abandoned me for cities at least an hour away. I randomly messaged a "Good evening" to a kind-of-friend who was online (All my communication with people I am around daily right now is through the internet, I am across the country for the Summer.) But we 'talked' for quite some time and talked about anime and homeless people, and then moved on to talking about a mutual crush (which was surprisingly not too awkward, considering we are of different genders), and plans for the future (including the plans I have that I haven't yet seriously talked about to anyone). I don't know why, but the whole random conversation went very well and I'm really hoping that this turns into a good friendship.

Or I'm sleep deprived and telling people everything about me because my mental state is not in the right place. Who knows?

This hit me with nostalgia. Like back in elementary...

Oh, and it really reminds me why I love Bay12 so much.

No barriers on thought and communication but that which keeps us in harmony. ^ ^

Never seen that before. Seeing those kids facial expressions as they slowly realized what it meant to be part of the "bad" caste in the classroom... wow. And how much faster the group got once they were part of the "favored" caste.

I'd like to hear from those kids, now that they're adults.

The company that I worked as a paid intern in IT for last summer decided that they weren't going to hire anybody this summer, to cut costs, after I had been given approval to come back. After months of job hunting in a pretty bad local job market, I finally got an interview at Walmart for a temporary cashier position. I'd be working awful hours for minimum wage.

And then I woke up this morning with a message from my mother (who works for the same company, in the same building where the IT department is), saying that she had been stopped by the IT director in the hallway, asking if I would be willing to come back for the last few weeks of summer, starting next week. Normal daytime business hours, 40-hour workweeks, at $9/hour, doing a job I know and love. My response: hell yes.

Screw Walmart, I'm gonna work with computers again!
