I still use a CRT. Half the people I know still do. Granted, half the people I know are over 60. But those halves aren't equivalent.
:o Goes to show how different worlds are. Haven't seen a CRT in over a year, and I'm really glad they're gone. The noise is faint, but annoying once it got my attention.

CRT's made sounds? o:

I don't remember I heard them, and the last CRT to go from my house was last year...

yes. they do. Its worse for some CRT's than others. And not every human has the range of hearing to pick up on it.

Mine makes a subtle high-pitched buzzing sound. For the record, in my household, we have 5 CRT's (all of which I use) and 1 LCD LED TV (which my parents use).

Good luck... people can be notoriously stingy, claiming all kinds of crap to avoid paying for web design.

In that case, how about you put some easily-changed crap in there on purpose? Then the customer can have a feeling of superiority when telling you to change that crap, and a happy customer is a paying customer.

This trick is so standard that I wonder why it keeps on working.

You could check off all the crackpot things, too. Said that "well, we don't know that it's impossible" and all that kind of thing, then went on about close-mindedness for thinking it is and all that kind of thing.

Hey, maybe there's some quirk in physics that will allow us to. Doesn't seem likely though :P

Quote from: Chesterton
For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.
