Went swimming today, it was very nice, both the water and the swim itslef. Dived quite a bit too, feels like my depth and underwater endurance have improved somewhat. Then had dinner at the cafeteria and came home for a shower.

Ever since my body is permeated by that subtle pain of having been used properly, you know the kind you get after a workout, the one that feels great.

As part of my new intent to become proactive...
*I've asked my boss for a raise and a promotion
*I have made moves to find a job with 50% better pay sometime in the next few months if the raise doesn't come through.
*I have joined up to 3 different dating sites, okcupid, zoosk and plentyoffish. Probably going to drop zoosk... they want you to pay extra for everything. Pof and okcupid seem to let you do everything you need without paying anything.
*While waiting on an oil change, I made some light conversation about the lame infomercials on the tv at the service center with a cute girl. And on the way out I told her that I thought she was cute, gave her my business card and told her she could call or text me. I doubt anything will come of it, but her smile did light up quite nicely.
*been exercising a bit, daily situps and push ups, regular bike rides.

I live in Kansas City, and I just found out that a Nodwick collection that my father loaned me may have been touched by Aaron Williams himself. (My dad knows someone who used to RP with Aaron.)

Great job.  Seriously, you're an inspiration.

I have been playing Spec Ops: The Line in my free time. Holy shit, but this game is good at what it does, and what it does is make you hate yourself.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Sweet.  Maybe I'll ask for that for Christmas!

The thing to be warned of, is that while it's a deconstruction of generic modern shooters, it kind of plays like a generic modern shooter itself, so it's honestly a bit dull in the gameplay department, but I did find it a fun game to play through on story alone.
