That is a good postscript. Shit was about to get awkward.

Yup. Fun thing is, I currently live in the US. I wonder how tourists feel when they see it all over murals?

I feel I need to rescind something I wrote in the sad thread, where I said the girl I was dating had been ignoring me rudely. Well she finally got a hold of me, and we talked for a bit. Basically, in her own words, she feels that her life is a quagmire of emotional issues from years of troubles that she's only starting to cope with, and feels that a relationship would be merely dragging me into her emotional sty.

Talking it out, we agreed to go our separate ways for the time being, but I informed her, thoroughly, that should she ever overcome these difficulties that are dragging her life down, that she has my number and can call me and we can start over. She seemed really happy with that. I'm glad I got to speak with her, that kind of diplomatic parting leaves me extremely contented and relieved.

While I don't have a girl anymore, I got peace of mind, and that's a good thing I think.

You have those things as part of your conception of "normal." I wish everyone did. They do not.
Societies and attitudes can change, even if at a painfully slow pace for the people who are affected by discrimination right now. A teacher I know ran into an unexpected problem when reading an excerpt of a 1950s kids-novel with 7th graders. A main character was described as a stereotypical tomboyish girl. The kids couldn't get their heads wrapped around the concept of a tomboy, they thought the text was misleading and clearly describing a transgender person, because that was a concept they were familiar with, citing tv-personalities as examples. When I was their age, "tomboy" seemed like a very dated concept to me, but I wouldn't have interpreted the character as "transgender" upon reading something like that. So it seems "normal" can shift a lot in a few decades.

Wasn't someone on these forums working on that at some point?

I wouldn't know, and I can't find anything with the search function.

Went to an auction and had an awesome time. I didn't get any of the things I was hoping to buy but I still picked up some little stuff I missed. A bench grinder, hardhat, maps, books, and tools. Only spent $14 so I definitely got my money's worth.

Things I wanted but was outbid on:
fully engraved .45 Bisley Colt SAA: sold for $4400. I didn't even bid on it.
bow: $20, my max was $10
spotters scope: $35, max was $30
Civil War cannon: $1100, max was $500

I really wanted to threaten my asshole neighbor with that cannon. Hook it up behind my lawnmower, drive over, "Take out that berm or I take out your polebarn!"

I like it, reminds me a lot of those perspective eye games I used to play a lot (and still sometimes do).

Just watched V for Vendetta for the first time.

Suddenly I realise the masks and how awesome they are, honestly, I kinda want one now, just in case.

I still have yet to watch that. I'm afraid that if I do, I'll try to one-letter-monologue everything.

Holy crap, why did I not start watching One Punch Man earlier? This is the best thing.
probably figured an autobiography wouldn't be interesting

I remember when we rented it. We thought it looked pretty cool based on the previews.

Two and a half hours later, everyone else had wandered off and I was only sticking with it to justify the otherwise-wasted two and a half hours :/

It was a pretty good movie. Not the greatest ever, but worth the watch.
