What's wrong with y'all? It has a nice charm to it. Mind you, I wouldn't be caught alive saying it unironically, you have to go full Texas to be able to.

Eh, it's got a charm to it only if you don't live surrounded by it. At least that's my reasoning. It's just such a stereotypical overdone accent that is usually used in media to portray, y'know, the average suthern' horse ridin' cowboy stereotype that it bugs me because I live in Texas and don't fit the stereotype. I would guess it bugs me in the same way--for lack of a better universal term, considering "African Americans" doesn't apply to anyone outside 'murica--black people might be bugged by the "ghetto" gangsta stereotype that's so commonly used.

Basically, I guess I'm just tired of hearing it.

I've actually heard all y'all used once or twice sincerely. I think. I can't recall any particular events, I suppose, so it's not even anecdotal. At any rate, I'm in Iowa, so even just "y'all" is very rarely used.

I've actually heard all y'all used once or twice sincerely. I think. I can't recall any particular events, I suppose, so it's not even anecdotal. At any rate, I'm in Iowa, so even just "y'all" is very rarely used.

Y'all is used all the time. I mean, this is Texas I'm talking about. I just don't personally use it in average conversation and whenever someone does use it in earshot it sticks out to me like a sore thumb. It's like the whole "manual breathing" thing.
