I just ordered copies of Genshiken Omnibus Vol. 1, The Short Stories of F. Scott Fitzgerald (old hardcover), and Fashionable Nonsense by Alan Sokal. Books are good.

A big pharma representative gifted me today with a sample insuline pen, which is filled with water which has been laced to smell just like insulin, only stronger. In case you're curious, insulin smells kind of like a mixture like dry leather and sweat.


In other words, I was just handed a liquid which can make a room stink of old shoe for a whole week with a single squirt. And I have 200 ml of the stuff. This is a childhood dream come true. I'm still pondering the possibilities of the stuff.

“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Oh, the Insulin smell. I know exactly what you mean, my sister's been Type 1 diabetic for some 16 years now. I kind of like it, honestly. Except that it reminds me of needles, and well, I hate needles.

So I went swimming today, it was fun, although I got a little sunburnt, does anyone know if aloe verae or such actually helps sunburns heal faster, or if they just make it hurt less?
