Call me a heretic but I'm enjoying the Industrial Revolution the most so far. I mean they are all good books, but by this point Pratchett has managed to take wit to levels unknown before.

Yeah, I prefer the Guards books and the IR ones most, but the Guards books are a bit... eh, I feel like they've changed recently.

"Night Watch" with all its Time Shenanigans and the broody and embittered Vimes, The Last Hero (Pratchett signed my copy! *swoon*), and Small Gods are probably my all-time favorites. I have a lot more of his that I haven't read, though.

One of these days, I'll get back to Discworld. Pratchett seems to have gotten pretty dark since he realized he was descending into senility... been facing the issue of Mortality more directly, I think.

Alright, I'd like to make one more iteration in what is my truly endless tornado of self-doubt and continual understanding:

So I've ventured into the land of texting, and I feel I may be here for awhile whether I like it or not. I've texted that girl, hastily stated that yes I can infact text, and asked how she was doing. And hey, she replied! Throughout the day we have a very slow, very short conversation that consisted of three texts each, in which we've managed to communicate that we're both doing well, where I work and that it means I work late hours.

I didn't want our first conversation to be about me, but I suppose it's a start. I suppose I'll need to continue this rapport over the week and maybe we can get to know eachother a little bit. I think that's how it works? Pretty sure.

I suppose I could dissect and worry over every little thing, but why worry about it at this point? I already feel I've conquered a threshold I never thought I'd overcome, so I guess it's just a matter of riding out this tsunami of good luck for as long as I can.

I'm glad you guys have so much faith in my ability. I'm still shaking out the painful beliefs and reminders of my failures that have been rattling around in my skull for maybe a decade now, so I simply can't help it when I doubt myself. I feel pretty confident so far though.
