Hmm.  ACII remains a pretty good game, but I understand why people are frustrated that the series is moving away from its roots.  The "synch bars" instead of HP idea was brilliant, and this is indeed a bit too handholdy/railroady.  The whole discrete plots thing with all of them marked on the map isn't the best for me.  Eh. . . and maybe the learning curve is a bit shallow?  I'm no longer dying nearly often enough, hohoho, and I splatter off buildings pretty infrequently now that I learned both what handholds look like and how to catch back on as I'm on my way down.

Well, we'll see.  I hear that there remains a whole lot of shanking in my future, and the hidden blade is indeed quite pleasant to use.

Hehe, I'm saving up for that and Mark of the Ninja.  However, I actually have a stealth game idea I want to work on, and playing the exemplars of the genre is important to do that right >:I

I just wish I knew why AC feels so much like Fable to me.

Now I know, I know this game had some serious flaws in the aesthetics, but if you are looking for stealth games as a source study, the mechanics of Red Ninja were actually really good.
I know it is objectification in a can, but were it a different game with the same stealth mechanics it would be awesome.
