It feels like... well, I've got to be honest, it's a little bit disappointing because I thought that being a Published Author would be a much bigger milestone in my life, that somehow it would really change things.  I did sink a lot of hours into this project over the past two years or so, so it doesn't feel completely like I just sort of randomly got hit by the Good Luck Fairy, but I'm still sort of reeling over the idea that someone like me wouldn't have to be, I don't know, vastly more competent than I am to do something like this.

Also, I am name-checked on Wikipedia now, which sort of seems ridiculous.  I don't have my own page or anything, but I am on the list of translators for this person o_O

So while you guys were talking about Oglaf and complaining about links instead of just looking at where the link went and writing it down to see later, I got 5 cases of friendly fire and one terrified guard kill out of one unupgraded poison dart in Mark of the Ninja, then hung them all up for dramatics. Its probably not as good an idea to point out the things in what is effectively the main thread of the forums, not counting Announcements (which gets put in the News at the top of all the pages) and the upper boards (which aren't related to the thread half the time).

Well, let me see what I can find if I search for "NSFW" in the happy thread, how about this, or this, and that's just the first ones that caught my eye, people have linked to pornagraphic sites, and various other things that may or may not be viewed as "crossing the line".

EDIT: Ok, I'm sorry if this came across as being a bit inflammatory, but what I'm trying to say is that this sort of thing really happens all the time, the rules are not set in stone, and what is deemed "acceptable", and "not acceptable" is really a matter of context and whatever the community feels is or is not acceptable.
People coming out and making a big deal about this sort of thing seems sort of ridiculous, and kinda... hypocritical almost?

I will say that I do appreciate the rules against porn, and that I really would prefer this site not become a place for rampant porn sharing, and that I don't plan on saying any more about the issue for fear it becomes a bigger and more ridiculous fiasco than it's already been.

Let's not argue about what constitutes safe-for-workness as related to content in the Happy Thread. Suffice it to say Oglaf is a fairly funny webcomic, and if you're cool with things that don't take themselves seriously, parody tropes of epic fantasy, and which tend to contain adult content/themes in various degrees of explicitness, you could check it out. If not, don't check it out.

Honestly, I PERSONALLY don't have problems with it at all. The main problem is the site rules don't allow it. I think discussion but not direct links myself SHOULD be fine.

And yes the NSFW thing is part of the site rules so that's not really debatable. It's not like you can't browse around to something in possibly the very next page on Olgaf that would break the forum rules. I mean seriously guys.
