Woo, finally got a Plexiglass Pikestaff in KoL. After a 50 day long ascension.
Not woo, I have 5 more to do before it's meaningfully useful.

An untarnished nightsky is a beautiful thing. Sadly, light pollution is pretty much everywhere now.

So I have a list of games that are older, but for the most part not old enough to gain classic status.  It has been my mission to track down every last one of these and buy them with my own money without ordering them off of the internet, except as a very last resort.  It took me nearly a year to find number one on the list: The World Ends With You; my quest ending at a Gamestop (unfortunately) where I bought their very last copy.

Numbers two and three are Shadow of the Colossus and Mirror's Edge.

So yesterday I ended up with the local used games store just a few minutes walk away and I decided to go check in.  I had visited a few weeks earlier and asked around for a couple of the games. Unfortunately, the owner had sold his last copy of Shadow of the Colossus the day before, but he said to check back in a few weeks, as he should be receiving another copy soon.

I enter the shop and, after waiting for a few minutes while checking out the NES shelf, ask the owner if he has a copy in.  And lo and behold he not only has a copy in, but sitting on the shelf right next to the counter is a copy of Mirror's Edge!  Both discs are in near prefect condition and the two of them together were less than thirty bucks!

I am in a state of permanent happy dance right now, and I'll actually have time to play them soon with winter break coming up in just a week!  Just have to get through my finals without losing my sanity...

TL;DR:  I gots me hands on copies of Shadow of the Colossus and Mirror's Edge finally!

E-reader's fixed. Even better, it now does more stuff than it could before.

It does insist that it's a phone though.

Light pollution and constant cloud cover make Olympia a terrible place for seeing stars. I'm happy that I'll see the stars again when I go home for winter break.

I have recently discovered Wolfram Alpha.  My math teacher gives open book open notes open internet quizzes online through the school's system.  I squee'd.

Makes me wonder though, would plugging the equations into wolfram and telling it what I want like this, be considered cheating or would that be covered under the open internet bit?

Hey, if the syllabus/assignment(/general school rules or legal constraints, I guess) doesn't specify otherwise, it's fair game. Teacher's own fault for not being clear.

You can always ask, if you want to be sure. If the teacher's savvy enough to mention open internet, though, they're probably aware of wolfram.

I will use these newfound powers responsibly.  Probably.

Shame it's near the end of the semester though. :)
