I'd only intended to buy one pack, but the little Asian grocery store I was at had a $10 minimum on eftpos, forcing me to either buy four of 'em or try to decipher what something else in the shop was. Oh well, that was my lunch, dinner and breakfast the next day! Yum!

This video makes me not want to live in this time in Earth's history any more. In semirelated happy, my band got through the second round of the Emergenza competition at the HiFi Bar last night, and will be playing the Billboard in mid-December. We get throught that, we go to Sydney for the national finals less than a week after that. We get through that, we're flown to frickin' Deutschland to play the Emergenza Festival.

Yep, science is still awesome

The first thing that struck me was when it showed the orbits of satellites around the earth.
And I thought, "Things will never be the same as they were", only in the death of humanity could things be the same, and "We truly will be as gods", if only things continue as they have been going.
The second thing that struck me was when it was zooming out.
For the first time I think I truly got a good grasp on just how tiny we are. Even if there are a trillion trillion humans in a galaxy spanning million year old civilization, and we stride between the stars in instants on momentary whims, we will still be tiny and insignificant compared to the vastness and age of the universe.
