You'd probably like where I live. Right at the mouth of a canyon. Whenever a storm comes over the mountains, we get nasty winds.

I've gotten back to playing Fallen Earth (post-apocalyptic MMORPG free on Steam) and I'm enyoying it. You want a gas mask? MAKE IT YOURSELF, DAMNIT.

As for weather, I personally like rain and storms. Breezes as well.

Overall pretty poor day, and the noisebox is on again, but...

... but damnit, this apple juice is delicious. I guess it's the small things, I'unno. I'm not exactly going to complain that this stuff is apparently an instant mood lifter, but maybe it indicates a certain degree of emotional shallowness.

Eh. Don't care, I guess. Have another drink, boys ♪

at this moment my father is on the phone with a telemarketer.  Trying to tell him something is wrong with his computer, He is playing with the person.  Currently has him opening up the event viewer because apparently they have logs from one of the computers at our home but are not willing to say what the logs are.  I feel a bit sorry for the person on the other end as my father runs a (small) IT department at the college I go to.

Lovely.

My dad always tries to keep them on the phone as long as possible, up to the moment when they think he's about to download their spyware...

Then bam, sudden disconnect.

It's a shame there's no way to hear their reactions, though.

Don't be mean to the poor telemarketers. They're just poor, underpayed, whipped employees who work for the real monsters.

The computer-problem ones are technically scammers, and scammers tend to not be poor (which is a shame).

They're the worst ones.

Once I got one to drive 300 kilometers to meet a non-existent person in the next country over :)

http://science.slashdot.org/story/12/10/16/234229/alpha-centauri-has-an-earth-sized-planet

holy crap they discovered chiron

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sid_Meier's_Alpha_Centauri

Methinks that planet might be a little too hot for Chiron-type shenanigans.

But still. That's barely out of our backyard.
