Re: my pipe. I've heard that you can smoke lavender as a better and cheaper alternative to tobacco; is this true, and is it going to be bad long-term for me?

(like seriously bad- I have a pipe so I'm not inhaling much of the smoke)

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

Inhaling smoke of any sort carries a high risk of lung/throat/mouth cancer, as well as various things like COPD. But if you're smoking herbals and not really inhaling, the 'high' risk is pretty negligible.

I've missed you, midnight burrito runs. One of the most treasured freedoms of college has been restored.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Do I have to dry it first? I do, don't I? How do I do that?

You can also smoke cloves. They have a numbing effect, apparently.

It gets better as it goes along.

Until it abruptly ends, of course.

Doing some boxing of random crap, and I found some spare parts for my PC tower. Hooray~ I got some extra filler thingies for where where dvd drives/etc are supposed to go; previously I had a giant hole that was taped over to try and prevent dust from coming through.

Speaking of great Sci-Fi series that inspired movies, I just now discovered the Cowboy Bebop movie.

I'mma watch the crap out of it.
