Holy crap, memory from childhood (that doesn't happen often.) I remember being on the road with my family, and we stopped at this place to eat, and they let me have a chocolate coke. To my...five or six year old self, it was glorious.

It took us longer than we thought, but we've finally done it! We're proud to present to you, o esteemed Kickstarter backer, the magic that is Trial of the Clone in digital form. As you skim this on your computer, please take the time to appreciate that a pack of made-in-the-USA robots hand (er, claw)-copied the entirety of this book back into the computer from the most perfect copy printed, one pixel at a time. This is the most hand-crafted, artisanal, cruelty-free, vegan, untested-on-animals, free-range ebook ever produced. You're welcome.

To obtain a copy of the book, simply go to the link below and download the version that is most suitable for you. You can download it as many times as you want, but as we also plead on the page: please be respectful when sharing! We purposefully chose not to include any DRM or other security measures for the ebook, partially because we know you geniuses would work around it in a second, but also because we trust you to make good decisions. Why else would we give you a book full of dangerous, extraterrestrial deaths?

Oh man. Four chapters in and I'm already in a fight against a kid's parent.

12 charisma! *3 lines later* Awww...

Drink cyanide, gain charisma. Seems legit.

For anyone curious, I finally got my response from Post Cereal, but it's the ordinary boring Customer Service response that actually doesn't do anything:

Thank you for contacting Post Foods.

We are sorry to learn of your reported experience with Post Honey-Comb Cereal and appreciate this matter being brought to our attention.

We realize that not all of our products will appeal to every individual; however, we always want to hear from consumers when they feel our products do not live up to their expectations.

This type of communication aids us in improving and controlling our operations to meet our objectives of providing a good, quality product. Unfortunately, we do not have a replacement or money back guarantee policy in place for consumer’s with general dislikes of a specific Post product.

We appreciate all consumer feedback. Please feel free to contact us at 1-800-431-POST (7678), Monday – Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm EST.

Thank you again for contacting Post Foods.

The Bay 12 Space Program now has an obvious target:
A super-Earth composed mostly of diamond and graphite.

Quote
At least a third of the planet's mass is likely pure diamond.
Mind you, this is planet projected to have a mass 8.63 ± 0.35 that of Earth. So nearly three Earths worth of diamond.

Strike the stars!!

The fungus that had been spreading along the surface of my shower (at least, this is what I assume it was - a spreading reddish splotch) is now dead and gone.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.
