Downloaded a demo of I Am Alive. It was decent; about what I was expecting. Downloaded a demo of Sniper Elite V2. Excellent, thank you Janet. Ended up buying...
Journey. It was beautiful. I'm not referring solely to the graphics (although they were gorgeous), but to the whole experience. I beat it once, and I expect to many more times. I was amazed at every turn (and terrified at a couple
). I went through eight partners, but was lucky enough to
climb the icy mountain part with one partner.
That was the part that was most amazing. The multiplayer could not have been done any better. When the other person called out, it was only a button press for them, but it was a message for me. Don't be afraid. Don't be cold. Keep going. You're not alone.
I was kind of disappointed that in the credits, they had the list of players you met, but that list wasn't in your players met menu. I didn't manage to catch the last person's name, and I had a lot I wanted to say to them.
This was the first game in a long time (ever?) to bring me to tears.
EDIT: Also I bought Roller Coaster Tycoon, and wow nostalgia blast. I remember when I was a kid playing this, and my mom was helping me, and she accidentally dropped one of my mechanics in the lake, and I got really mad
and then later, she thought she saw him, but it turned out to be a duck. That actually might have been the last game to make me tear up, heh.
Also she watched me play through the Sniper Elite demo and actually thought it was pretty cool. Awesome mom is awesome.
