I'm not sure why I did it, and I'm pretty sure that I'm the only one on the B12 forums who did, but I just watched the NFL Draft (Round 1). Football will be upon us soon. ^_^

Oh crap, I just realized: Fantasy Football is coming back soon. I better read up some stats again and work on my smack talk.

I read that as Final Fantasy Football, and had to doubletake.

If I recall correctly, Yuna was a Blitzball player in FFX-2 (side-quest/optional game). I would imagine her more of a quarterback. I mean, ever try throwing a medicine ball through a sphere of water in a straight line?

This is technically true, but I have a vivid recollection as that being the very worst...

the VERY WORST...

Minigame implemented not only in that game, but any game ever. You go from playing yourself, to being a halfassed coach training terrible players in an environment that's completely hostile to progress, while you yourself are having to cope with a wildly alien and nonintuitive control scheme and ruleset AND having to juggle atleast double the number of stats and figures from the first iteration.

It's a stark difference from the Blitzball in FF10, which was probably the one of the best minigames I've ever played.

Or put another way, Yuna wasn't playing Blitzball, it was just a game where you got to watch Yuna and her friends drown for five minutes at a time.

I agree. When I played X-2's Blitzball, I was severely disappointed. I thought the game would play more like the original with a few tweaks made to improve it, or when I saw the atrocity of X-2's unplayable style, at least allow an option to switch back to 'Classic Mode'. Nope; deal with this, or play Sphere Break instead.

I agree. When I played X-2's Blitzball, I was severely disappointed. I would have been much happier if Drownball had been real.
