I'm completely fine with advancing portable tech, tis a good thing. But not when it messes with my desktop working without having to jump through hoops. Make it a side OS, like Windows Server; then all the tablet stuff works, all the (windows) server stuff works, and my desktop can be as organizably cluttered as it is now without much to complain about the others (except for putting the obtuse waste of space called Ribbon in Explorer, thats just wasting space that could be used on showing more icon/folders/files and the menus work perfectly fine there as it is, damnit. )

Homogenization has the benefit of only having to learn one thing. User friendliness is a HUGE deal to people wanting to sell to non-tech savvy folk; you know, most people. If they only have to be taught how to use one thing, then other Windows tablets/pcs/etc will have no further learning barriers.

It also causes lots of problems when they only know that one thing and it ignores them in favor of a strange new design, like what happened with the Office Ribbon.

Fair enough. But I still say the ribbon could certainly be less bulky, and UI design has plenty of space for alternates.

So I decided to read through the Fortbent thread again.

I updated Fortbent to version 34.01, interactions and all, at 8:21 A.M the day of 34.01's release. Holy shit. I don't quite remember that.

But that's not really what surprised me. Reading through the thread a bit more, I started the DBZ mod the very same day, only 9 hours later. Holy crap, I don't remember that at all. I made super saiyans the day after.

I remember it being a week or two after, not the day O_o

It notes that the system might be good for a Stargate, or Quantum Leap campaign... Am I the only one who thinks this sounds like it could be incredibly awesome? I kind of want to see what a Sliders style campaign would be like.

I'll start chronicling what I remember, I think you can get most information just from googling.

5 stats Muscle, Speed, Stamina, Mental, Luck, roll a D10 for each. Each stat has a direct effect on sub-stats for each.

Muscle is divided by 10 and rounded up for your base damage.
Speed is weird and I'll need to re-read it. It is very funky and the base speed is like 60 feet a turn. This is walking speed.
Stamina has a direct correlation on your health, on top of a base of ten? And an extra ten a level.
Mental has a weird effect on special skills I don't fully understand yet.
Luck changes your Luck Roll and uses a /5 rather than /10 for all the other stats.

Each entity has a Power Level which is all your stats added up /10 rounded up. Seems many things rely on this power level. Leveling up I think allows you to roll a D6 for any stat increase. Game doesn't track levels, just Power Levels.

Stop right there.  I'm pretty sure that means your base damage would always be one.

Might want to take another look at that.  Are you sure it's not a D100 system?

From what I gathered you add onto the muscle as you "level up". Plus that's just the base damage, I imagine the actual damage is determined by dice roll + modifier.
