I have decided elephants are adorable.

They are not.
Are they at least delicious?
Nevermind, Japa's a vegetarian and wouldn't know.

Apparently an adventurous english fellow tried eating an elephant trunk once in the early 20th century. He reported back as saying 'The meat was too tough, even after stewing it for over a week.'

[CITATION NEEDED]
Yeah, but the flanks are enormous. There's gotta be some good meat in there somewhere. Could you imagine a rack of ribs from that beast? :O

I have no regrets about hating on (drunken) meanless fun when I have to listen to it being (loudly, and possibly sloppily) had just about every other night.

I feel sorry for people who grow up too fast. No offense or anything, but, like... don't hate on meaningless fun.
I suspect that, if growing up faster is a bad thing, you are doing it wrong.

About to celebrate my 10-year anniversary tomorrow. Blows my f**king mind that somebody has been able to put up with me for that long.

Growing up too fast is not good for psychological or emotional health, especially in circumstances similar to those I was forced to grow up in. I'm not comfortable discussing details, but it makes living a normal, healthy life very difficult. At the least, you're socially-awkward around those your age because you have nothing in common. At worst, you're like me; more comfortable with folks in their 30s to 50s, take things too seriously, and are always stressed out because you don't know how to live in the moment.

Oh, and RedKing, GRATS DUDE.

If there are negative effects of "growing up" then those effects are regressive and should be avoided if possible.

But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Growing up should be avoided, or the effects of growing up? :P

The negative effects.

Basically don't ever do anything just to act "adult." That would be childish.

Attempting to purposely behave as an adult defies the logic and meaning of 'growing up' =)

I'm still honestly not sure how it happened. It just kind of did, and I'm not terribly happy about it. The women, money and booze are nice bonuses, although I could do without the drama and the bills.

I don't have women, money, or booze, but I do have drama and bills.

No wonder I feel so old  :(
