I made video games with them. No joke; my little lego dudes ran around an imaginary overworld and leveled up.
I did that, too! at 9 yrs old I already had entire zelda-like worlds for my brothers to play in (Ah, brave knight! You can't access the bed unless you have a ladder, which can be bought from the castle store, if you have enough crystals! You might want to check the abandoned mine under the desk, but beware for the monsters that live there!) I was a DM before I even heard of RPG :)

A Lego store sounds like walhalla, but Significant Other is already complaining where I thought I was going to put those two enormous boxes that she can't even lift.
Obviously you need to build an addition on to your house. Out of LEGOs.
Then you could Lego while you Lego, in your Lego made of Legos.

I stopped laughing when I remembered that people actually do that. Then I started laughing harder.

Legos are the best toys in existence.

I made video games with them. No joke; my little lego dudes ran around an imaginary overworld and leveled up.
Me too! I made arenas and came up with skills and items and levelled up and all that.
Especially nice are the bins of pieces, like a candy store. You get a bucket, scoop out pieces you want, and then pay by weight. And they'll regularly rotate the kinds of pieces. We got a bunch of ladders and roof tiles the other day.
:o
Never heard of such things, they must not exist round here...   :(

Further fun fact: One of the games I made up while playing legos had an unusual level up system. Instead of pretending to give my guys experience, I had baddies "drop" those really tiny pieces (they were circular and smaller than the smallest bricks; they came off the old spaceship models are were supposed to represent lights). I called em "gems" and stuck them on the lego weapons where it'd fit, all to give imaginary stat boosts.

15 years later, I make a real RPG. Guess what monsters drop and guess what you can stick on weapons. I'm STILL pulling creative ideas from my 8 year old self.

Beyond RPGs, I also recreated RTS games like Warcraft and Majesty. For a good 5-6 years, all the shelves in one corner of my room had various buildings of different shapes that were supposed to be unit spawning buildings. Every time I got a new action figure or whatever, I'd make a new building so I could "build" the new toy as a unit (as only certain buildings could make certain units, you see!). Not to mention all the makeshift bridges across the desks and shelves!

Every kid who won't swallow legos MUST play with them. It should be a law or something.

Alas, stagnated. Problem was I simply did not have enough tools made, so making new content took 10x as long as needed. Tedium killed it.

Good news though I can repurpose what I made into pretty much anything. Current plan is make something MUCH smaller (that I can do solo) and then restart it.

I just got a new job where I get work to from home making the same as I was at the place where I was constantly sexually harassed. The job: do network support during hours where basically no one calls.
