Not a brony myself, but it's a pretty decent animated show if you're into such things. Good writing and production values raise it above many other current animated shows.

Also, happiness: chicken korma with rice turned out to be absolutely delicious. I usually like my food, but this turned out to be above and beyond what I've come to expect from my average meals.

I went to a street fair today and ate too much unhealthy food. It was delicious though.

I figured out why my wireless USB networking thingy wasn't working after much raging. Apparently, Windows 7 thought it was a great idea to turn it off whenever I plugged it in order to save power.

The downside: I'm now wasting a AAA battery's worth of electricity every month (Probably less).

The upside: Internet.

What game?

Sid Meier's Covert Action, one of the best PC games of 1990.  Check it out, it's a really good action-puzzle game.  The controls take some getting used to though.

get rechargable batteries so you don't have to buy new ones all the damned time.

Eh, one AAA battery a month is not that expensive..

Surely he's making a claim about how silly Windows is, by comparing the amount of power to the battery in question, rather than using actual batteries?

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

No, he is clearly using some sort of arcane contraption to power his computer with AAA batteries.  :P

Tomorrow or the day after (keeping an eye on the news about it), I'm going to be seeing this happen again, except this time, it'll be headed north instead of south. Considering I don't live too far away from the space center, this thing ought to be flying rather low by the time it passes by like last time. I'm preparing for it by making sure I can get a good recording or a few good pictures of it. Last time it flew past, it looked like it was flying low enough to buzz by the nearby condos (I mean real low, to the point you can look into the windows of the plane and shuttle from the beach).

EDIT:
Looking around for more info, according to this article there were delays due to some obnoxious wind (been happening alot lately). No word yet on when exactly it's going to take off, but if anyone's in the Washington area, you'll be able to see this thing in the Smithsonian once it arrives; and you might even get to watch the thing circle the area before it lands too.

And on an unrealted note, this is a rather interesting headline.
