I am sorry, but I do not see how that expands or refutes my point. I can not tell if you mean to say that I am wholly or partially mistaken.

I think it's a multiple rollover or something.  IE no one has won for several weeks in a row so they just keep putting previous week's takings into the pot.  It encourages people to play and means that someone is more likely to eventually win - and having a huge jackpot is a good way to distract from the fact that no one has won your lottery for weeks on end.

Was it cheap market stuff or something good expensive? No need to be a beer aficionado but it's a big world out there beyond the cases of cheap sixpacks. My first forays into pretentious beer drinking involved a very ordinary sounding wheat and barley beer that ended up tasting surprisingly fruity and sweet. Not at all what I expected a beer to taste like based on my prior experiences. My first (admittedly overblown) reaction was utter disbelief that it could be anything but cider or soda.

A friend linked me to a random music streaming site. First few songs were pretty good. Then I got All The Pretty Girls by Fun.. My first thought was "Queen!". Reason enough to be happy. Summer fuck yeah.

Some beers are very much an acquired taste too, like Belgian kriek or German rauchbier. Your basic lager beer is probably the most inoffensive (although Czech pilsners can be a little bit skunky at times). But then you have some beer like Imperial Russian Stout, where a good one can taste like you're drinking a piece of Black Forest cake. Which is also 10% alcohol.

Ah. Yeah, Warsteiner's not great but its not terrible either. It's kind of the Miller of Germany -- mass-market beer, easy to drink but not much character (imho).
