I love being an adult. I can buy and eat pizza rolls whenever I want.

I realized this with marshmallow fluff the other day. Probably significantly worse for me.

I got into playing Fire Emblem 6: Sword of Seals. It's the one that Roy stars in. I like it, but ultimately I feel it's a downgrade from how awesome FE 4 was, which is still my 2nd favorite game of all time.

Need to read the FE manga sometime.

What does GISDM stand for? New internet lingo escapes me.

But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

I read a My Little Pony/Zombieland crossover fic, translated from Hebrew. Not sure how I feel right now.

Fanfiction's one realm I've yet to tread.

Unless you count my 5000 word piece of crap sitting in an open office window. Damn it sucks. Good writing exercise, I guess.

Turner Classic Movie channel is playing The Dirigible, one of the only movies ever made about actual zeppelins.  It's every bit as entertaining, characterful, hokey, racist, methodical, and fun to watch as one would expect of an "experimental technology" driven action movie made in 1931.  I might have to track down a copy of this for my collection.

I lifted a car a couple days back.

Got it stuck real deep in the snow, alone, no reception, no public phones, middle of the night, nobody for miles--except for a freeway where nobody was going to stop anyway, and an exit that no one was going to take.

Not much else to do except alternate between pushing and resting for eight hours straight.  Screwed up my muscles pretty bad.  But you know what, I'm pretty damn happy to have lifted it just a couple inches, just what was needed.  This went a little farther than merely "pushing" the car.

...I swear to Dog my muscles didn't seem this big last week.  But apparently if you tear the hell out of your muscles, it forces them to grow back with more volume or something?  Maybe not better but bigger.  So yeah, adrenaline-fueled stupid weightlifting at the very edge of my theoretical ability and wrecking myself for the win.  I'm covered in bruises, but I feel like a badass.

If you do that regularly (and make sure you aren't destroying your back) you'll get to keep those muscles :)

At a cellular level, weightlifting and any sort of lifting causes tiny tears, as that part's capacity has been exceeded - and muscle growth is the body repairing that area and adding a few layers extra to reinforce the microwounded part - in essence, increasing your strength by increasing the amount of cells there.

Badly tearing your muscles isn't such a good idea as it puts tremendous strain on your ligaments and accessory muscles.

So in other words, to get totally ripped, I just need to develop a device that creates microfractures in muscle tissue across my entire body, and use repeatedly.
