Found this gem: http://vterrain.org/
Hundreds of research papers about procedurally rendering and generating things related to terrain. Just what I need to help with my CG2 project.

So my band got through, and now we're playing at the Hi-Fi bar in a few months, which is basically as big a venue in Melbourne music as you can get without hiring out a fuckin' sports stadium.

The best take I've ever seen on the pretty much meaningless statements along the lings of 'if we laid all the X end to end, it would reach to Y.'

Jack Spicer is great.  We need more characters like him.

Yeeeeeees  :D I approve of heartily.

@BlargityBlarg: I think I remember hearing some of your bands music in the bards guild thread, unless I'm getting you confused with someone else.  What's your bands name?

I think that he was the best version of that character type I've seen, cowardly and full of himself, but he actually manages to be funny instead of annoying.

That elephant has the weight of all the others on him and thus also can't breathe. He's also suffocating, but envying the ones doing so in space.

Made a bunch more progress in Crimson Skies without any screw ups with the game so far. For the first time, I've legitimately made it close to the end of the game, and using a proper joystick really makes a difference in my air combat performance. I mean, I'm able to take out some heavy aircraft squadrons with a freaking autogyro, no problem. I remember the Hollywood Air Race mission was a thorn in my side first playthroughs, but I actually had fun this time, and passed everyone from last place by the second obstacle (an Egyptian studio set) and led the pack with a good minute to spare by the halfway mark (flying between both stands of a suspension bridge carways).

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Oh, and I somehow managed to get an awesome shot from the first Hollywood mission where I incidentally ended up as part of a movie scene shooting (before I had to shoot up Hollywood to bail out an actress).

I won't and can't say where it's from, and will not suggest anyone go looking for it, but those who know it, know the joke. That face is one of the best punchlines in illustrated media. I'm giggly for a bit now.

As cool as it looks flying through Hollywood, it brings up a quirk you really see in the Airfield and Colorado maps.  All of the planes are roughly the size of C-130s, compared to the trains and houses and stuff on the ground.

Oh well, still cool.

Yeah. Actually, I was remarking on how both my aircraft and one of the other stunt aircraft managed to go through it at the same exact time. It really was a close call in that mission, and I am proud that I managed to beat it, and get that shot after beating it.

Going to have to remark on the Nichijou OST again. I couldn't listen to it all in sit through, that's just wayyy too much awesome for one time, all things in moderation.

I have to say, most of the songs are pretty goddamn awesome. Except Sakamoto's character songs, which are not awesome, but mindblowing.
