I'm happy!  Today i was cleaning out my brothers closet (he moved out and I'm stealing his room)  And I found my old Lab coat! from when I used to work in a lab!
I haven't seen it in quite some time (~3 years) , so I'm wearing it around the house today.

I've spent the better part of two days learning the basics of how DF's data structures are stored.  Using a combination of Runesmith's memory map, too much time and a memory trainer, I've figured out quite a bit.  I figured out a few things that I think there are no tools for currently (such as how to turn a grudge into a friend).

I've sort of known how to do this for a while, but haven't ever put it to practice for real.  It's quite fun, especially when you do figure something out and you get that warm fuzzy feeling. 

Of course, I'll be crossposting this in the angry thread because I refigured out a few things that were already known... and I haven't achieved my eventual hacking goal yet (forced marriages).  That, and I figured out about 1,000 ways to make DF crash.

I looked at the release notes and the readme, which didn't mention being able to do any of that.  I intend to download it and see what it's capable of tonight though.

Those only have the tools that are made using it.

The actual abilities of the library are far more than what's done with it so far.

I'm happy that I got my FAFSA back, and provided my schools agree with the government, I'm pretty much eligible for free education this year. This is really big!

Well, wish I'd have known about that before.  I spent the better part of two days figuring out the location and function of the acquaintances structures based on the creature structure.

Happy ensues though, because apparently I mostly got it right, so at least I'm not worthless as a reverse engineer.    And maybe I can glean a bit more out of the knowledge already present there to complete my work...
