It is going to be a Good Day. How do I know this? Well, because I started it off with a rant about the Nouveau Riche.

That's the problem with social mobility. I mean, I believe in social mobility. I really do, I'm a democratic socialist for goodness' sake. On the other hand, becoming dictator solely to create a perpetual underclass of shallow people who watch Jersey Shore unironically and drive Range Rovers to their country club parties and capping their income so that they never make more than five figures is sometimes a bit more enticing than it probably should be.

I mean, the poor will always be poor, and we should do all we can to keep their proportion in society as low as possible by keeping the income gap down and keep income rising. But nobody-and I mean nobody- has a better sense of the unspoken class war than the scion of a minor branch of an Old Money family that makes about 60k a year and goes to school with the Nouveau Riche, such as myself.

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

Am I the only person here who's seen Escape From NY?

Vector, if you're looking for a terribly cheesy movie, you've found it. Now all you need to complete the trifecta are Bloodsport and Timecop.

I have seen all three of those. Classics of late 80's/early 90's testosterone flicks (well, with the exception of Escape from New York, which is early 80's. Plus Kurt Russell > Van Damme by a factor of a million or so).

I see your bid and raise you three awesomely cheesy 80's fantasy films: Krull, The Beastmaster, and Deathstalker.

How about we just go to Conan The Barbarian, The Karate Kid and The Dark Crystal? All horribly cheese filled, all instant nostalgia.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I'd only heard of it through Metal Gear references.

Now I see that it is a film worth enjoying for its own merits.

When I was very young, I used to think that Snake Blisken was the same Snake from the old metal gear Nintendo game because... eyepatch.
