In 20 years we'll be surprised by the stuff we don't have right now. For example, I'm currently reading up on ways to produce hydrogen and oxygen directly from water using nothing more than sunlight, which is a field that's picking up steam currently (the amount of papers related to it has been rising exponentially since 1990 for example).

I lol'd. Nearly made my day.
Huh, I didn't even see the coincidence XD But yeah, making hydrogen from water with sunlight is going to take another 20 years probably, though that may be a conservative estimate.

Just finished my compsci homework with flair~  Oh yes!  And I'm all caught up on the reading for that class, so after dinner I'm going to take a break (read some more compsci textbook, watch one of the lectures I haven't seen), and then it's off to take notes on complex analysis and try to finish a problem or two for tomorrow.  My nightcap is gonna be reading for my English class, and then maybe I'll spend an hour or two doing creative writing while I listen to the other two compsci lectures I missed.

For a day which I've basically spent working and/or crying, it's actually been pretty good.  I should try being productive more often XD  It really does feel great to solve problems!

Just to clarify, here's a video detailing the flexible, printable displays I was talking about. Enjoy!

Almost through the Long Work Week of the current cycle. Coming up is my "week off", where I work only 2 in 6 days. Much actually useful stuff will get done, I swear it.

Probably I'll come up with a way to justify playing The Witcher as "useful". Probably filing it under "cultural exploration" or something. Still, not the point. Time to my goddamn self will be nice.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

An employee that was kinda dragging the store down has finally been fired. He kept trying to sell the most expensive stuff when we're there for the customer (we don't even sell on commission) which we got more than a few complaints about and his attitude towards the managers wasn't the greatest. Now if only our hiring process was a tad faster... We were already understaffed.

That sounds a lot like the situation in my main account store. I sympathize.

Quote from: Jeremiah 10
1 Hear what the LORD says to you, people of Israel. 2 This is what the LORD says:
   “Do not learn the ways of the nations
   or be terrified by signs in the heavens,
   though the nations are terrified by them.
3 For the practices of the peoples are worthless;
   they cut a tree out of the forest,
   and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel.
4 They adorn it with silver and gold;
   they fasten it with hammer and nails
   so it will not totter.
5 Like a scarecrow in a cucumber field,
   their idols cannot speak;
they must be carried
   because they cannot walk.
Do not fear them;
   they can do no harm
   nor can they do any good.”

This chapter describes what are essentially Christmas trees

and how God hates them

Regardless, I feel obliged to live up to my namesake... Or at least internet namesake! It is a travesty to have the title White and never have seen snow. I bring great dishoner to my clan.
