I think it's a children's book that teaches kids words and numbers and stuff with superheroes. Hilariously.

Fuck it.  You wanna read Metal Gear or FFVII fanfic?  You read this woman's stuff.  She's top-fucking-tier and the best of the best.  She knows her shit and she's got rhythm.
All so shoooorrrtttt, narblefarble. So short. Guess I'll check out the FF7 stuff, though. Eventually. Once I cut down some more on the stuff I've got open in tabs (There's like sixty fics open right now ><).

Short, but frankly, I'd rather have her sweet succinctness than the logorrhea of most fanfic authors any day.

(She's got even more at her livejournal, under the handle fireholly... <3)

My cousin became an Australian citizen today. Or yesterday, maybe. Or possibly even tomorrow. Damn international date line.

Yeah, they're using the word and then showing a different way that sentence could be said whilst also being correct.

Another year closer to death; provided the Apocalypse doesn't happen first. :P

Happy birthday, person with the same birthday as I! :D Don't worry, I'm sure the apocalypse will kill us all before you can get too old and wrinkly.

@Super Dictionary: ...Want. I've never been able to fathom all of DCs insanely long and convoluted plot lines, a comic-style dictionary would probably be the best way to get into them. :P
The whole thing gave me a smile despite my rapidly advancing years... D:

You have to be quite adept at pickpocketing and other minor crimes if you want to pass the citizenship test, you must be quite proud of your brother for managing.

It's Batman and Robin. Their relationship has been... close... since the beginning :P

But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Is it taboo to say that they are gay, or are we just being ironic by pretending there are people who don't yet know that the bat cave becomes the local gay bar every Saturday?

So, while many parts of the game's script may reek of the thing where expletives, sex (and preposterous amounts of sexism), and other "edgy" things are considered signs of maturity in storytelling, but I'm really enjoying the Witcher. It gives me a similar sense of "Whoa, this game is huge" that Knights of the Old Republic did back when I first set foot outside the apartment on Taris. It's something I've been missing for a while. It's not quite hugeness, I think - neither Dragon Age (made by Bioware, just like KotOR, and larger than it IIRC) nor Morrowind (only Elder Scrolls game I've played, but I'm given to understand they blow away most other games for sheer size) have had really the same effect on me. Maybe some of the character-building mechanics have something to do with it? I'm not sure. Whatever the case, the game may be riddled with cliches and fetch quests, but I like it. Even if I can't actually figure out why, exactly.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.
