O.o This is a happy thing? I'd imagine it'd be quite scary. Is everyone okay?

Eep, was that the big one that just hit in the Pacific? Glad you're safe!

I just got back from my first Superbowl Party-thinger ever. I've never been a sports person... I can enjoy playing games and all, but I've never found much appeal in watching them. Still, we spent more of our time laughing at the game and discussing other things than actually watching it. It was a fun little get-together!

I will admit, there was a hilarious moment toward the end of the game, when the Giants were near to scoring; through slight-of-hand they managed to sneak the ball into a guy's hands, who then proceeded to crouch down and stealth his way through a crowd of guys slamming into and tackling one another, with no idea where the ball was. The guy stopped at the edge of the end-zone, turned around with a big grin on his face, and as they rushed toward him gently fell backwards and scored the last touchdown of the game with his ass. I absolutely loved it.

Puppy power truly works.

So here I am having a cruddy day due to a combination of allergies beating the everliving hell out of me and work being excessively busy despite being the day of the Superbowl. About an hour before closing I helped two different people with puppies and afterwords I feel strangely better. Not recovered by any means but definitely more upbeat.

Got caught in a magnitude 6.8 earthquake, while inside a mall. It was every bit as exciting, exhilarating and terrifying as you can think it is.

Quake was also city-wide; everyone felt it everywhere.

E: I also absconded the heck outta there after the quake went away. No f**king way am I going to shop for groceries in that mall until two hours or so.

PFF! Lucky, I never get caught in natural disasters.

I do like your reaction though, "Not gonna shop. I think that earthquake has earned ATLEAST a two hour postponement to my plans."

Natural disasters can be quite thrilling if you survive them without much in the way of close calls.

M'quite fond of hurricanes, myself... though I'm not stupid enough to be on the coast during them. Inland a ways, though, it's just delightful. Very unique type of storm. Kinda' sad none of 'ems really reached the area I'm in the last few years. Wrecked some other places, but the places I've been have been mostly untouched.

There can be sadness involved, of course, and it's risky, but most (emphasis on the most, there, though) natural phenomena can be either avoided (Don't live on fault line/below sea level, ferex.) or road out fairly easily nowadays.

Some things are just askin' for it, though. New Orleans was a good example of that, as is some of the islands out in the Caribbean and suchlike. Some places occasionally just get flattened... and then nitwits decide to go back in and rebuild ::)

AFAIK, nobody was harmed in the earthquake. Not a single person, which is great.

I posted it in the happy thread since it was exciting and fun. Glad everyone in that mall made it out unscathed.

Things were actually launching off the rack and the mall itself was like gelatin.

Well, part of that was that he actually didn't WANT to score and was genuinely surprised that he had made it as far as he did. By scoring, it gave the ball back to New England with nearly a minute of game time left. Whereas if he had stopped inches out and dropped to the ground, they could have run the clock down to basically no time left and then kicked a game-winning field goal. Didn't matter in the end, but it was one of those odd situations where scoring so easily was actually undesired.

Okay, yeah. I'm getting sleepy, apparently, because that amused me.

Mostly because I can't help think that's a euphemism*.

I guess interior crocodile alligator is as good a name for it as anything, if you're inclined to name it. Can shorten it to ICA (Eye-kaa).

Holy shit I just spelled that right on the first go. I'm terribly surprised!

Not a euphemism, a song!

It's still pretty euphemismy. Heheheh.

Math math math <3  I might actually finish my problem set this week!

Turned in both of my programming things, after a lot of "experimentation" (debugging), and have been reading my textbook.  Break time~  I feel pretty good, though.
