Worked on a server and 7 workstations setup at a small business over the weekend.  Stayed there for 4 hours during normal operating hours today to put out any unanticipated fires as they happened.

There were no fires.  A little smoldering that was quickly doused (Where did my desktop wallpaper go? Why were all my desktop icons moved?  Why can I connect to all the other websites but I can't get into my pogo anymore?) but there were no real work stopping problems.

I am both very happy we have a new satisfied managed services client (well the one with pogo gone didn't seem happy, but her boss told us to block it, wasn't my decision) and nothing going wrong really boosted my confidence.   I am now a real IT professional.  I re-built a small business network from the ground up.  And it works.  There are no words for how happy I am about that.

Well it seems the spambots are getting at least a teeny bit smarter, they're not just going in and making a random post, now they're saying something sort of relevant, like "Such an amazing link!" there, or "The archer got me" in the How Did You Last Die thread.

Still not good enough though.

I had a dream about a really ridiculous game that, with some modifications, could be the coolest game ever.

Something around 24 players, Imperial Guard and Orkz, all charging into some kind of Imperial facility that's been taken over by Daemons.  There's kind of a competitive semi-coop thing going on, where both factions are trying to get the same thing.  They can fight each other and possibly be too weak to survive against the Daemons, or they can stop form a temporary truce, but only one side can get whatever they're looking for so any truce is invariably temporary.

Each team also has a leader, a warboss and a Commissar.  In the dream I was the warboss.  At the beginning of the match the two leaders fought a duel, which was basically just a "push the button really fast" contest, but it looked awesome visually.  I lost, so the other guy got a head start.

I'm thinking the base concept, of competitive semi-coop could be a cool idea that I've only seen a few times and never all that well implemented, could make for a really awesome game.  Probably just drop the 40k thing, maybe make it adventurers in a dungeon or something.
