The last level's pretty hard but I beat it.  I feel like the writers had loftier aspirations than the developers.  You've got what is obviously attempting to be a pretty grand story that just gets rushed through.

Wisconsin accents make me happy.  There's something really endearing about them.  I used to be able to imitate them perfectly, having been born there and returned to visit relatives frequently throughout my childhood.  Not so great at it anymore.

Toady One: A few miscellaneous interface checks, and then back to the regional material emissions... and I still didn't manage to polish it off. Some changes are needed. For instance, I initially thought it would be enough to make the regions that rain blood draw from the civilized races, but then we ended up with regions that rain rodent man blood, which isn't as good as raining human or dwarven blood. Of course, you might prefer raining "blood", but we don't have generic blood anymore and I don't think it's proper to add it now that we've got real alternatives, though perhaps a slurry of some kind would be appropriate later. It didn't even work out right with the rodent man blood -- the indexing was screwed up, and we ended up with "a dusting of rodent man skin"... dandruff snow. Less Slayer and more Breakfast Club than we wanted, but at least I sorted that part out.

I'm also close to beating The Binding of Isaac. That game has some really fun gameplay, even if the themes can be rather unpleasant.

I don't really understand the concept of a Wisconsinite accent. Most Wisconsinites I've met sound no different to me than TV actors, except for those who have a twang. I think I've heard that the stereotypical Wisconsin accent involves pronouncing the "o" in Wisconsin as an "a", though I've never met the mythical creature that speaks this way, though I admit it's possible that people in the northern part of the state might get up to some pronunciations I don't know about.

Accents/dialects are getting less distinct in general and many are even going extinct.  I have some friends who are sort of geeks about it and are going to show me a documentary sometime soon about extinct dialects.  It actually sounds pretty interesting.  Mass media/globalization is normalizing everything.

But yeah, my relatives in Wisconsin, especially the ones a generation or two older than me, have very distinct accents.  My grandmother even does the "Oh dontcha know" thing.
