So day before i was rolling in the mall looking for stuff since im new in town. I hit up the Otaku store to check them freaks out and think my heart stop for a moment. Standing in back line was someone dressed as Chii. Now Chobits was my one of my first anime so this was a awesome kickback in memory. So walk up to her and tell how she looks cute and awesome dress, tilts her head at me and says "Chii?"
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Today was a good day. Got to spend some time with my grandpa, and while he's exactly doing well he's not doing badly for what he's got to deal with. It was good to see him, anyway, and know that he's still strong enough to have a sense of humor and still generally be himself. I also got to spend some time watching Dr. Who with a friend I've not seen in far too long, and much-needed hugs have been exchanged. Also got to try Drambuie, which was interesting - sort of a honey-licorice flavor to it, along with your standard burning sensation for whiskey. Finally, among my gifts were some quite nice things, most significantly the two Homestuck shirts I'm currently wearing (and the third I have yet to don) and the bottle of chocolate-cherry wine I've now got in the kitchen.

The weather was pretty much optimal, given my traveling requirements, too. Normally I love snow, but with a 3 hour each way drive on shitty tires (one of the drives straddling midnight) on a day I actually woke up at a sane hour, and with a 40 minute walk between my parking space and apartment, the lack of snow and ice was a lifesaver, and the reasonably warm temperature made for a comfortable walk.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I was going to get Arkham City and Skyrim for Christmas, along with going snowboarding.  Then my mom told me that going snowboarding would be too expensive, and that we wouldn't be getting the games.
Today I opened my gift from my cousin - Arkham freaking City.  I was practically squealing in glee.  Then I opened my mom's gift - Skyrim and NHL '12!  :D  She explained she'd found out my cousin had gotten me Arkham City, and returned the copy she'd gotten and exchanged it for NHL '12.  So freaking happy right now.  I thought I was getting nothing, and I got three games!

I'm getting ~$400 in computer upgrades; doubling my RAM, getting 500GB more storage, a new keyboard, and a new GPU.

Pretty damn good haul.

I got Assassin's Creed revelations.  The opening cinematic is beyond incredible.  I had to google it to see if it was CGI or real-time, I couldn't tell.

It was more real than real life.

Last week, I bought myself Destroy All Humans. Holy hell, I love this game.

Also, the suspected gay guy came back where I work, at least for a day. He hands me a Barbie doll and said he "thought I needed company". Yeah, get me a full-size one, then we'll talk ::).

... Yes, the hugs are for everyone.  No stabbing, though.  Just hugs.

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

I have nothing to do these days. Maybe I should go for a 100% run on Cave Story, since I haven't done that yet.

And GAH Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2! Why go and kill all my skills in X missions?

I got a new computer for christmas.  I just set it up, and checked the system requirements for most of my favorite games. Most of them are recommended.
