... Would you be sad if I said my first guess was Batman and my second guess was Captain Ahab?

(The third one was finally on the nose, after I said "Wait, neither Batman nor Captain Ahab plays jacks...")
Nope, those two were definitely people I used.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Yeah, it really is. I thought it was going to be some overly simplistic 1964 knock-off. It isn't!

Finished with the powerpoint that I will be using in my final project's video presentation. I'm thinking after my shift I'll do a practice video and possibly post it here for your entertainment/feedback before I do the final version tomorrow.

Just finished reading the TV Tropes page for Brian Blessed. He is truly even more awesome than I realized (3 ascents of Everest? Boxing with the Dalai Lama?)

I pray that the rumors of him beinng case as Dain Ironfoot in The Hobbit are true. :D

If you enjoyed that one, I highly recommend the page for Christopher Lee.  I liked the guy before I read this but oh my god

I'm going to fail my exams tomorrow or something--too many courses.  But you know what?  I'm happy.  I'm really happy.

One of my professors is acting as an ally for me, and somehow, it's making it easier to try to be around people rather than just being aloof.  She's my first one, and I hadn't realized that it could be so nice.  And even more than that, I found a lot of blogs written about people who think more like I do, in words that make sense, talking about things in a way that somehow feels safe and at-homeish.  So yeah... it feels like something has pleasantly clicked into place, and I feel fundamentally better about the world I'm in.

He's only contributed to Rhapsody of Fire.  (Narration, right?  I'll get around to listening to it one of these days.)  IIRC, he's actually made one metal album of his own besides that.

I have been working for four hours, and have produced two simple, terribly-written programs and what might be the worst paper I have ever typed up. And I shall get perfect scores for both, because I establish vaguely low standards for myself. Aw yeah.

Time to get back to slapping procrastination around and doing this Calculus homework.

EDIT: And I just pounded out two semester self-reflections of legitimate quality in less that fifteen minutes. One-night double project is now three quarters completed.

Calculus is finished! :)
Only thing left to do is get the code super-explained with notes, which I'll do tomorrow morning. And it's only an hour later than I wanted to be asleep. :)

MaximumZero: Visual Basic? Haha. I'm barely a beginner in C++. I've spent this semester learning it online. The two programs I wrote were a four-function calculator and a 1-100 number guessing game. After I get more acquainted with C++ and programming in general, I'll probably start looking into Visual Basic. It seems like one of the better languages. Good luck with that project.

I am very happy about and would like to point out that I completed two semester-long projects tonight alone, while ill, along with about twice my average level of other homework. This is stuff that I should have been working on for two weeks of class. I think I leveled up in Procrastination.

Oh, and the Physics homework that I was unable to check and was worried about my grade on came back as 97%. Much joy was had.

Random thought: Vector never actually travels anywhere by mundane means. She simply adds a magnitude and direction to herself to get to her destination.
