Maybe it's parasitic. It never loses its flavor because you eventually die from having your nutrients stolen by it.

That looks like someone is using blogspot as a geocities replacement.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Oh my God, it's like being socked in the face with 1997.  All he needs is some poorly-implemented frames, a status-bar scroller, and a "Find People From Highschool" ad banner on the side.

I am so proud of myself that I never made a website like that.

I made a website like that.

Not quite as bad but it had a Linkin Park song in the background so it was pretty bad.

If you'll excuse me, imma go have some PTSD flashbacks to back when we used Mosaic. I used to see sites like that annd think "This is why the whole "Web" thing will never catch on. I'd much rather use Lynx and just download the pictures I'm interested in seeing...."

yeah, I suck at picking out IT trends.  :-[

You.  You are Geocities.  Or were anyway.  I hope you've done quite a bit of repenting.

Not that I'm totally innocent myself.  I "helped" my cousin design a personal site that was basically just a repository of Tomb Raider clipart, dominated by a "How do you like my website now?" banner directed to some friend of his.

I had a job interview today and it went swimmingly. I didn't even have to use a word larger than three syllables once. At least, I don't remember having to.

Oh man, I remember when I had older friends that did this. Like I remember one of them would copy and paste news stories word-for-word off of other news sites into nothing more than a manually-edited text box. Crazy times.

My cousin and I were part of a (geocities-based) DBZ RPing group; after the owner of the original page imploded or something, he made his own version.  I was some flavor of stereotypical Mary Sue, and yes, the background of the page did have the instrumental Kingdom Hearts version of "Here comes Halloween" playing.  And it was white text on a dark background with flames involved somewhere.

Yup.  Old shame :-[

Oh great, and now I'm right back there with you.  I didn't make any part of the website myself, but in my case, it was a Star Trek RP.  I was a completely out of genre Commander Badass the weapons officer, and it was terrible terrible terrible.  All of our portraits were made by Googling our character names and very poorly editing the faces we liked onto TNG uniform shots.  The page formatting was atrocious and there were at least a couple "important" pages that could only be reached by typing in the url because nobody ever remembered to make a proper link to them.  Navigating was like a text-adventure with hyperlinks.

Man am I glad that web spaces don't last as long as photographs.
