Playing Guitar Hero 5, I discovered four things.  First, you can play songs with singers whose genders don't match your own singer's.  Second, you can unlock Shirley Manson to play for you.  Third, you can set who your bandmates are.  I set mine to an all-girl band, with Shirley as my frontwoman.  Finally, the song "Under Pressure" is playable... I may have invented the sexiest thing ever.  David Bowie and Freddie Mercury's voices coming out of Shirley Manson, once you get past the "oh, that's somewhat disturbing" phase, is so hot.  It's like an audio threesome.
You can apparently play as Kurt Cobain, and that makes me somewhat sad.

Flipping through Eclipse Phase some more, I found a massive Vurt shoutout in (where else) the drugs section: hallucinogenic "petals," including one named "Inquistive Green."

I squeed. Possibly aloud.

I was also reminded that I need to check out the rest of the series at some point (series--jeez, I knew there was a sequel, but I didn't know there were three).

Anyway, I think Vurt is the best example I've seen of a genre I like to call dreampunk, which really needs some more love. Paprika was pretty prime material, too; I'd put it at the top of the dreampunk film list. Inception needed to go deeper. It was a good flick, but not really surreal enough to fit the genre; I'd call it dreampunk-lite, at best.

Hehehe, thanks.  We both ended up being incredibly socially awkward and making a lot of really terrible math jokes.  Also, he apparently both reads Terry Pratchett and TvTropes.  Go figure... ?

Hm.

Vector, I'm afraid I'm going to have to steal your boyfriend now.  :P

I swoon a little every time someone says they read Terry Pratchett.

In oddly related news I've discovered I'm using TV Tropes to build a reading list.

He's not my boyfriend >:I  It's only been one date!  I am still open to loving from other callers!  Especially women named Hazelnut!

It would be worth going out with them just for the novelty of it!
Could you imagine not reading Pratchett? I don't know how you could survive! It would be like dating somebody who managed to get by without lungs.

???
I don't really see what the problem with that sentence is.

Anyway, I was poking fun with the boyfriend remark, I know it was just a blind date, but getting back to the topic at hand...

Does Hazelnut read Terry Pratchett?
