I hung around Bay12 in 2007 and started posting January of 2008, the thing that boggles my mind is if you look at the forum stats and see the huge explosion of posts and members in the last 3 years.

Bay12 is really this strange microcosm of silliness and spontaneity and kittens.

Nah. The timer doesn't update if you idle too long. At least that's what I've seen.

I'm pretty sure it's different for different browsers.  Mine keeps sending a signal regardless of whether I touch the page or not, as far as I can tell.  Which is why the Most Time Online list looks like it does, and only partially comports with the Top Ten Posters.  I guess Jifodus has a window open 24/7 or something.

What amazes me is that I'm still on both lists, when I've been actively trying to spend less time here.  I vaguely remember that we muscled Toady One out of the Top Ten Posters early last year around the 9000 mark.  I've put up about 5000 since then, and I'm still up there, only to be recently displaced by Vector.

At least Googling "bay12forum" doesn't suggest my name as a link anymore.
