Click on the stuff you want to read, then hit the "mark all as read" button on the page to clear out the rest until they're updated again.

It's an issue with the forum software, unfortunately.  There's a rather large number of threads I'd like to unsubscribe from, too =/  No one's been able to figure out a permanent workaround (maybe some sort of Greasemonkey script could work, though?).

This is one of the things that puzzles me, is "Turn notification on when you post or reply to a topic." marked on by default?
Because I see a lot of people posting on a topic to follow it when there's a perfectly good "notify" button at the top.

Does switching that off help?

"Notify" sends you emails, rather than signing you up for new replies to your posts, so there's less mailbox clutter and it's easier to re-find the threads when you post to watch.

I think the general problem with the notify button's lack of use was something to do with emails everytime the thread is updated, or something like that.

I can only imagine what it would be like to be notified for every post in this thread. Terror.

I like to keep my inbox at ~0.3 emails/day.

Maybe you should try talking to Toady to see if he can change the forum software. He's reworked it before.

Watched Kamen Rider ZO yesterday. Was pleasantly surprised.

Verrry interesting monster designs and special effects that included guys in rubber suits (naturally) and stop motion (!).

Makes me nostalgia over vaguely inexplicable fantasy movies with strange special effects that I saw as a kid.

Just to test it out again, I did hit the Unnotify button (strangely enough, if used to say Notify before in this thread, I swear), and, well, I'm here again because it still notified me.
