My family history reads a bit like a DF Legends Mode screen.  It involves ancient kings, wars, philanthropists, buried treasure, narrow escapes, the RCMP, and (possibly) the IRA and Kim Il-Sung.  Yes, I'm serious about all of those.  It's pretty cool, if long.
And the award for unlikeliest genealogical connection goes to...

My Da's side is filled with wealthy Thais and Cantonese Chinese, old members of the Thai Royal Court, advisors to the King and such and such important people.

My Mum's side is all educated upper-middle class Cantonese that escaped Communist China before the purges of the educated there.

"Hmm...It's weird how most of the bands I listen to have a different feel than most metal. Maybe I'm being too picky. Let's check out something closer to the roots. Hmm...What comparatively famous technical bands do I know? Ok, Necrophagist. *Youtube* Hmm, that's pretty cool. But I'm sure I can find something cooler! Ok, let's search for the first band name I can remember. *MOAR Youtube* Holy shit that's awesome! Hmm, what's that band in the link? Obscure as hell, but looks interesting. Let's see. *More youtubing* Nice. Ooooooh, what's that? More awesome obscure technical death? *Links links links*"

I now understand those guys that keep 2000+ songs by obscure death/black performers on their computer.

I don't even listen to metal.

And that's less than 75% of my collection. I'm still organising.

It's still more typical for metalheads than anyone else. : P

Hipsters and EDMheads got ya'll outnumbered :D

I'd say that metalheads are the only ones that care for catagorising obscure genres like Electronica fans do. Past a certain point hipsters just say "you've probably never heard of it" and leave it at that.

I am the direct descendant (and rightful heir! Damn that Knight's House for standing in way of my glory!) of a German swordsmaster who got employed and nobled by the Swedish royal family. He probably taught Charles XII how to fence. (Did a rather bad job though, didn't even teach him how to bat bullets buttons out of the air with his sword). Wrote a book about swordplay that is still famous in fencing circles throughout the world. He was a pretty cool dude and didn't afraid of anything. Oh, and he might have been Jewish.

I slept for eighteen and a half hours. It beats having no sleep at all.

Also, I just managed to ninja myself. Yay for forum glitches.

New LoZ trailer looks really sweet. I mean with something like that I might get back into the series. The artistic style still could use some polish, but still very cute for context.
