I'm getting back into DF in preparation for the new version. I used to say I had played with every aspect of the vanilla/main game. I lied; I have hardly touched Fortress mode except for one community fort and a good many sparsely populated, short-lived forts. I've mostly played Adventure Mode, though I understand Fort Mode. Now that I have a 3Ghz computer, it's time to start playing again, but this time, with the dwarven fellows...

I'm off to a cross country meet, along with 1199 other people! This should be fun.
Fun it was. Even though it was 95-100 degrees Fahrenheit (20.77-23.55 C) out, we found the one patch of shade in the area to pitch our tent, so it wasn't too bad. (Except for the two bologna sandwiches I packed. My sunglasses were set on them, focusing the sunlight enough to boil the bologna in its own juices and melt the plastic bag it was in. Fuckin' nasty.) I took 45th overall, 10th in my division. (We were in 1A, the 4th largest by-school-population division of 6.) For there being ~250 runners in the High School Varsity division, I thought I did fairly well. The race itself was hellish, but I set myself a massive personal record of 17:27 for a 5k. My previous record was 17:52 at State last year, and otherwise every 5k I've done since the middle of last season was around 18:30. This year I'm aiming for 16:30 and a shot at getting on the State podium. I know I can do it, now. It's just going to take a lot of work.

There were other upsides and downsides, though. Downsides including throwing up and almost blacking out after the finish line, upsides included hearing a couple people from a 4A (largest division) team worrying about losing to our tiny school, stating: "Holy shit! [My town's] 5th runner just crossed the finish line under 17:30! He passed John (later I found this was their 3rd runner) in the final 200 like he wasn't tired at all!"

Little did they know that I was only moving through a combination of anti-pain rage and willpower.

FMA:B finale on right now. YAY! Conclusion.

Also in FO3, I almost got every bobblehead in my collection. Taking care of that before completing the game and taking on the expansions. Don't want to waste skill points post-lvl 20. Also, accidentally quick jumped to Old Olney and got ambushed by 3 full health and full speed deathclaws, mauled them all in a matter of seconds (lvl 21, and in basic armor (raider)).

EDIT:
That was a good way to end the series.

In other FO3 news, I think I can confidently go through the rest of the game without hoarding weapons/armor and junk for taking advantage of schematics. As for meds, I can always use more (got 500+ stimpacks; and depended on sleeping/home kit to heal and anti-rad). Although I did chop up a behemoth with a shishkebab  and a deathclaw gauntlet before finishing it off with a shotgun blast to the face, and I didn't need to heal up either. :)

Had fun trying to get a cup to stick to my mouth/face/lips. I did this for an hour.

I need something better to do.

https://wwws.whitehouse.gov/petitions/!/petition/aid-lunar-revolution-overthrowing-oppressive-celestian-regime-equestria/cFXRkK0v
I laughed out loud when I saw Rainbow D. signed it.

Spoiler: Sedition. (click to show/hide)

And the petition would appear to be gone, in just the last twenty minutes or so.  The White House IT staff works late.

EDIT: Or, the site just doesn't work very well.  Weird, the page is there, but the petition doesn't seem to be listed on the main roster.  Maybe it's just failing to fight for space with the half-dozen Legalize Pot petitions.

The United States further shows their lack of support for the Ponies. I mean, just look at all of this Pony discrimination! Ponies aren't even given standard human rights in the United States!

Jopax's sig image is entrancing to me and makes me happy.  But how the hell is that little chubby one with the tiny legs keeping ahead of those more fit dogs in the back of the pack.

I wouldn't be surprised if that pony White house petition gave somebody a good laugh or two.  The white house.gov site probably has more than a few techs monitoring that system, and we all know that computer techs spend entirely too long aimlessly on the internet.

And then marines dropped out of a helicopter and siege-d the poor petition starter's house.
