You can put a .txt file on it and then claim "BEHOLD! THE HANDHELD PRINTER!"

Only available from HP. :P

My tongue hurts so good.
soursoursoursoursoursoursour

Firefox thinks the previous line should be "foursome"

And my teacher is bringing in a laptop so I can actually get to C++.
Because, apparently, the "administration" doesn't care enough to install a compiler on one computer.
I give a lawl for system inefficiency.

I have a pen. It has a USB stick hidden in it.

WHY IS THIS SO ENTERTAINING?!?
How does this work? I'm imagining a pen, and a USB stick. They don't match up. Is it a really thick pen?

I found a picture. It makes sense now. It's a rather thick pen, by my standards.

That's seriously the kind of thing they'd give to a spy if the USB is well hidden. If you ever need to steal data from someone...

I'd imagine if you turned the plug sideways you could make it thinner, but making it so you can actually plug that in would be a bit tricky. Doable, but tricky.

House of Leaves is an avante garde book... which I haven't actually read, at some point I probably will... Maybe I'll start looking into it right now... but I've got so much other stuff to read.

So...
I read Maus, and basically moped around for a couple of days. And I think I'm realizing, I actually really like depressing, emotional, stories. I think it's like how some people like to go on roller coaster rides, or watch horror movies. Despite the fact that they make me feel bad (and ye gods Maus was depressing), they also make me feel alive.
To put it poetically: When tears flow into a stagnant soul they bring life in their wake.

I'm... feeling very weird right now. How common is this?

I really enjoy depressing stories as well. I don't often feel depressed or sad in my day to day life so stories give me a chance to experience the emotion with a depth that I wouldn't get in real life. I think there's something beautiful and poignant about them, too. I'll often go over and over a particularly sad moment in my head, they stick with me in a way other things don't.

Here's a free read of it.
What... What is this? I read the first and last pages. Is this the most psychotic fan fiction/parody ever created? That's what it looks like.
EDIT: Never mind, I hated it. It failed to capture appropriate aspects of the book, and was immature and disrespectful to one of my favorite pieces of literature. Hilarious find, though, if you enjoyed it.

House of Leaves is an uplifting tale about a family moving into a new house and overcoming their problems. It's also about a tattoo artist falling in love and getting off of drugs.
This is one of the best books I have ever read. I don't have enough praise for it that I can put into words. It's in my top 3 reads, next to A Song of Ice and Fire and right above The Stand.

If anyone has ever considered reading it, just go get it, and read it. Now. Or, whatever time is convenient for all rational thought to take a vacation.

And a note to anyone who found it confusing: Pick up his Only Revolutions; its language and style is entirely poetic, it reads two (or, if you do it right, four) directions at once, has some "nice" color-coding (especially o's), and is full of words that don't exist as they are. Allot of them.

House of Leaves obsessing makes me happy. I need to go buy the book. Somewhere.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.
