Bought FF7 on PS3 on a whim. Watching the intro movie now!

That exists? I thought it was ONLY the intro movie, and that the game as a whole was deemed too prohibitively expensive to ever warrant remaking.

I mean hell, I'd choose that option if the alternative two options were 'save all the puppies' and 'save the orphans from drowning,' let alone the 2 other options given you(usher in a new dark age or give control to a power mongering douche)

Discovery Channel is airing more episodes of Rising: Rebuilding Ground Zero. Several things are being done for the tenth anniversary; a new train hub, a pear tree recovered from the wreck, four new towers (one of which has a cut on the top pointing to the center of the memorial; Another has a wall moved back slightly so that at 8:45 on September 11, every year, the sun is shining directly on the memorial). There's some really incredible stuff going on - and already done - for the coming event: the architecture, the labor, the memories of those who died on that day.

I wish there were something better I could say, but there isn't.

I went with that option first, then when it popped up with a quote from Voltaire, I reloaded and went with the dark age option.  That's what I really liked about this game, the three choices at the end aren't cut and dry good/neutral/evil, they're all morally ambiguous and sorta depend on the player's belief as to who should run everything: God, the people, or the people in charge.

I think if I were a cenobite I would've made Frank into a jigsaw puzzle and hid the pieces around the house.  That'd make things more fun.

They don't even fit into such clear categories as those three you listed; and that's part of what makes it so great. With the AI option it's got issues of trusting a being which is essentially a different species but with a potential to bring about utopia through rule without ambitions of power; a government for the people but not by the people. The destruction option is essentially an attempt to throw a reset switch and hope things develop better the next time, but still not addressing any of the root problems; rule by the people, but not necessarily for the people. The Illuminati option involves working with power-mad oligarchs in hopes of improving the situation from the top (as the player is invited to rule as an Illuminati member), but overall things remaining very much the same; of the 3, it could almost be considered a moderate option.

Refreshingly ambiguous compared to modern 'morality scale' crap like Mass Effect, Fallout 3, DA, ect. "Do you want to A: volunteer at the orphanage, B: murder all the orphans for their hides, C: call the orphan matron a whore, punch her in the face, then run off."

I watched them all with my dad a couple of years back. With the dated special effects I couldn't help but wonder how the novels held up but I've not gone after them yet.
