Uh... we went to the movies at night and watched Captain America.  He was wearing a T-shirt and olive green cargo pants.  His Tourette's is a lot better than it used to be.

Sounds pretty fun! He was trying to look nice, but casual from the sound of it, not enough detail to be sure, but it is a good sign. Better than jeans or shorts. Jeans are ok, but shorts would be heart breaking.
Yes, it matters, and no, I wasn't there and therefore can not have an informed opinion. These are guidelines, not rules, but cargo pants are good.
