I think there was specifically an episode where they tried to have dinner but just kept smashing the table and the things on it.

 Oh those wacky animes.

Oh my god, seriously?  I never saw that, due to my only exposure being the manga (and then, it was translated into French and changed a little).  I may have to go hunt it down.

Did a reformat/OS reinstall for friend of my parents because she got a virus.  Apparently she is so bad at computers that It wouldn't be to off to replace the keyboard with big shapes like some sort of fucking kids toy.

Apparently math majors are just generally awesome people. I ended up sitting at the (effectively) math department table at the graduate student orientation today, though I was also joined in this contamination by a religious studies guy and a girl in statistics. Now I may have a D&D group when I move down there. It was also nice to see that about half of them were women, because it's always nice to see stereotypes get curbstomped.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Well, that sort of thing wouldn't be unnormal at my uni. About 75% of the students are female.

Just heard The Daily Show's John Stewart utter the words, "changing of the Republican Guard" when referring to new Republican candidates. Probably unintentional, but quite humorous.

A musical consisting of gibberish that is designed to sound like American English.

The best part is that it really does almost sounds like something to me.

My group of peer leaders is awesome. It is myself and two other juniors that I'm friends with, and an extremely pretty senior. That, and all of my teachers are cool. I've got a history teacher that was at the JFK assassination and has spent loads of time since then reconstructing everything and writing a book on it.
