Why wouldn't they make it free for all in the first place?

No, but they can be infected with and transmit the STD that causes a lot of cervical cancer.

Why wouldn't they make it free for all in the first place?

If it were America? Profitssssssss!

Medicine is expensive, you only really do that when it becomes a a major problem. And every nation thinks about profits.

And I think we tried something like that in the states a year or two ago, except is was mandatory for all girls in elementary school or something. And the vaccination leaves side-effects. So of course it was shot down due to the mandatory stupidity.

I don't want to start a serious debate in the happy thread, but I'll just leave it at this: mandatory HPV vaccinations make me uneasy. Especially when it's still relatively experimental and it's being forced on kids. Anybody wants to argue, we can split it out to a new thread.

Yeah, it's been found to be effective against genital warts on males as well, and if a lot of people took it it would, in theory, not just give them better protection against them but also mean less women gets it from men, which would also mean even less cases of cervical cancer.
Additionally, it seems to stop early stages of rectum (rectal?) cancer as well.

But I mostly posted it because it sounds funny.

I don't think there's anything mandatory about the Swedish line, though. Just a free option in case people want it. The basic programme (for girls) has been held up several times, however. Not sure what's going on.

The thing is, vaccines only really work if you get a significant portion of the population to take them.  Without a mandatory/ semi-mandatory (like opt-out) scheme you aren't likely to get noticable results.

First, we have to rid the world of bogus information on certain subjects. And celebrities who can afford to advertize false information.

Bloodstock tomorrow, and I just bought a new album.

Admittedly an album by an obscure punk band. Oh, and it's a concept album (getting a feel of what kind of weird punk band makes a concept album?) about a rapist.

Japa wouldn't play sports, I'd presume. The whole "pants required" thing.

Well, that and he's precluded from ladies' tennis and golf. They don't require pants, but they do require ladyparts.
