Oh man, there are certain games and certain albums/songs that are inextricably linked in my memory, because they were always playing while I was playing. Like System Shock and TIE Fighter are linked with Soundgarden's Superunknown because they all came out in '94, and I had that album on repeat like a mofo. And Pool of Radiance (the original) is forever linked with a host of late-80's pop music because of the radio station I had on while I played.

I'm happy because it occurred to me to check the local music schedules for the next couple of months. SO MUCH GOOD STUFF. October is rife with live acts I want to see. The Civil Wars, Big Head Todd & The Monsters, Reverend Horton Heat...

Tell me about it, whenever I hear Muse's Citizen Erased I get all nostalgic about playing MMOs with my old school friends. And some of the Homestuck music is forever linked to Mud and Blood 2 in my head.

Got Jeff Wayne's musical War of the Worlds on loud in the other room. The martians have landed and the heat ray is imminent. whee!

I get to see Muse again this weekend alongside these great acts. :D

I bought my mum to finally get a CPAP machine. Hopefully now she can get a decent nights rest.

I had a great bath in a comfy sauna. It was made even better because it was stormy and raining outside.

Writing an essay for German class.

Query: Pretend you were something other than a human.  What would "life" be like?

First sentence of my essay: If I were an essay, I would be recursive.

Several years ago, I used to hang out in a youth organization whose meetings were typically opned by a question everyone answered in sequence. The questions were typically like "What animal do you feel like" and "If you were a meal, what kind of meal would you be" and so on... one time, when no one had came up with a question I suggested the following: Which question would you ask? and it was taken. Guess what was my answer and how many confused looks that yielded...

First answer coming to my mind is "This one."

To understand recursion, you must first understand recursion. :P

What I came here for: My wife was cooking spaghetti last night, and had to stop, forcing me into the kitchen to continue browning hamburger. At first, I was all pissed off, because I had to cook. Then, because she's a vegetarian now, I figured that the smell may have bothered her, so I chilled out. Later, when everyone was asleep, I thought about it. The smell never bothers her when I cook steak and whatnot, so that's probably not it. Then, I realize, this has happened once before.

ZPG may be closer than we think.
