I'm in a very similar situation. I used to be a factory rat, so what I do for a living feels like slacking off, and yet my boss never visits my stores because he gets nothing but praise from all the managers. It's...odd.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I occasionally work the bar at the racecourse, working for a company who takes on useless twerps for casual catering work. Only done one shift so far, but it ain't fun. All day on your feet, pouring overpriced beer for obnoxious drunken gamblers, but hey, at least we're ripping them off by serving short measures.

Problem is, it's casual work for a big company, so I am literally worthless to them, positioned as I am right at the bottom of the heap, so I rarely even get work.

I'm back bros. Brb gonna sleep it off.

Did manage to catch my neighborhood speeding along below me from the plane, which was quite a lucky catch.

Ah, the politics of work.  I throw freight for a living and get paid hourly, and apparently I'm a hot commodity among supervisors because as lazy as I might be, I don't have to be watched to make sure I'm actually working.  Which ironically means I can take time off with nobody raising a fuss.  Capital of reputations.
If I were so lucky. I'm considered the "hardest worker" there, despite my relatively good skill at avoiding some of the less desirable work. Unfortunately, they use this as an excuse to pile more stuff on me.

Oh gods, my Political Science minor apparently qualifies me for the education component of a slew of civil service jobs, if not the experience requirements. Still useless, but pretty funny, since I got that many credits with just the one professor.

EDIT: I'm looking at them because they were recommended to me by a professor, but I think I must be looking at the wrong thing because these are waaaaay beyond my current qualifications.

Hey. If there's one thing I'm good at, and used to. It's recovering from injures. In the large scale of what I've taken this is nothing.

Maybe Ill even play KDIZD for you guys sometime. I'd just wanna remake my marathon music pack for it.

I am... very nearly done with this campaign. Next session is tomorrow, and all I need to do is some magic items, and I'll be done with the stats I actually have to do, and the rest can wait. This makes me happy. Also, I wrote a puzzle where the solution is that there's no puzzle and the BBEG is just a dick who wants you to think there is so you spend time trying to solve it instead of stabbing him in the face. I know it's hardly original, but I wanna see how long it takes the party to figure it out, or if they'll just decide to bypass it entirely (since they totally can, and should).
