From the military thread thingemy. I have to say it made me laugh very hard.

Counting: The US does not control Libya at all, we have no soldiers there and we only supported the NATO airstrike effort for 90 days. We have virtually nothing to do with Libya at this point.

March 9, 2011: The United States had naval forces positioned off the coast of Libya, as well as forces already in the region, including the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise.

Got 99% on my German test, home from school, finished reading the Chronicles of Saint Augustine.

And best of all, my German teacher says we can make up as many vocabulary quizzes up as we can complete in 20 minutes, next Tuesday.

I am the fastest quiz taker in the class, by minutes.  I also have the greatest history of absenteeism.  This is going to be very, very good for my grade.

You mean the Confessions, right?

Whatever.  Those things.  I finished them late at night when I could barely keep my eyes open anymore.

I know who SHAD0Wdump's avatar is!  It's Demo!
Am I the only one who looked back a few pages to try and find one of SHADOWdump's posts to see his avatar, only to give up pretty quickly?

Go to Google maps.  http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&tab=wl

Enter "China" as your starting point, "Taiwan" as your endpoint. Get directions.

"Step 48: Swim across the Pacific Ocean 165 km"

:P
This made me smile.
Not that new, though. I've seen someone point out the 'Jetski across Pacific Ocean' line around that point going from China to Japan before.
Yeah, I've seen it before. If I remember correctly, some of the landmark names were supposed to be funny when translated.

My friend took a picture of this complicated piece of art he saw in NYC recently. I don't think I'm hip enough to understand it, but it made me make a concerned laugh.

Sounds like you've found quite a job.  Although if what I remember about your location is right, I am astounded that there could be a market to sell four laptops in 90 minutes.

Earlier today I was listening to "We're Not Gonna Take It" or whatever the song is called, and realized that if there was ever a big protest against the stupid anti-piracy and other retarded anti-Net neutrality laws, this song we be pretty good for it.

Grazi.

I do love my job, even though I'm non-commission. Also, people tend to spend money they don't have when they get their paychecks that aren't quite big enough and hear, "18 months no interest!" Yeah, I know I'm terrible, but at least I'm good at what I do. Hell, I sold a $650 laptop in a WalMart today. Talk about difficult.

That is pretty astounding, although knowing that it's a non-commission sales job at WalMart kinda dampens the excitement.  It's fucking WalMart, and you get paid the same no matter how well you work.

Earlier today I was listening to "We're Not Gonna Take It" or whatever the song is called, and realized that if there was ever a big protest against the stupid anti-piracy and other retarded anti-Net neutrality laws, this song we be pretty good for it.

Using the epitome of corporate-generated 80's pop rock to protest anti-Internet-piracy?  It's ironic on just enough levels to be cool, but only if you know how ridiculous you are.

You might even get Dee Snider to show up for your protest, he's pretty desperate for work.

Actually, I was in 3 WalMarts and a BestBuy today. When I do well in BestBuy, it gets me endcaps and floor stacks. When I do well in WalMart, it gets the employees to give a crap about my training. Sure, I get paid the same, but just coasting doesn't get me near as much favor to "spend" with the employees, like getting them to go to out of town training seminars and whatnot.

Ah, the politics of work.  I throw freight for a living and get paid hourly, and apparently I'm a hot commodity among supervisors because as lazy as I might be, I don't have to be watched to make sure I'm actually working.  Which ironically means I can take time off with nobody raising a fuss.  Capital of reputations.
